You Win Some, You Lose Some!!

Get ready because this post contains LOTS of pictures!! YAY!! Everyone likes pictures better than writing anyways right?


So last weekend was nothing less than FABULOUS!!!

It all started Friday, we went to the volleyball game against Stanford. We are number 1 and they are number 9, and the last 11 games against them, we won. So, we were in for a great game.

For those of you who don't know how the volleyball games work, you play till 25 and the first team to win 3 games wins. Well, we tied 2-2 and had to play all five games. The score was 15-12 in the final game(which only goes to 15) and we won!!!!! It was SUCH a good game and SO fun!!!!

In between games, sort of like half-time, they have a competition with people from the crowd. KR, Dani AND Jake all got picked to participate. They went down on the court and they had to throw the ball over the net and try to get it in this basket-type thing with wheels on it.

Well, they all tried their best and apparently, KR's best was good enough!! He made one in, unlike the rest of the competitors and he won a DVD player!! How awesome is that???

Anyways, after the game, a big group of us went to Denny's and then to the boy's house to watch Frequency. It was a blast!

Then, Saturday, Traci, Carli, and Bobbi came with me to my ward activity. We had a picture scavenger hunt!! It was SOO fun!! Nelson and Lauren from my ward came in our group and we ran around town taking pictures of all the things it said to!! We had 45 minutes and I think we did pretty dang good, even though we didn't win. But we had pizza when we got back and showed everyone's pictures on the TV.

After that, we went to a performance on campus. Traci had to go for her class so Bobbi, Dustin and I went with her. It wasn't that bad actually. It was a whole bunch of excerpts from different operas. There was even a girl from my ward who has an AMAZING voice who performed. It was way good. But, we left early, as requested by Miss Traci. Haha.

After the opera, we went bowling!!!!!! I haven't been in forever, and I am pretty much HORRIBLE at it but it was still sooo much fun!!

We had 2 lanes, 4 on each lane. So in my lane we had me and KR...(he's making a funny face haha) and Bobbi and Dustin. On the other lane we had Craig and Jake...

Anyways, well despite my warning him, KR agreed to a bet of "losers buy ice cream" with Bobbi and Dustin. I tried to tell him....

The first game we definitely did NOT win. Yes, I am Miss Giggles and I got a 58... Bobbi hustled us. She claimed, "Trust me guys, I am so bad at this."

After every strike (and there were numerous strikes) she pleaded for us to believe her that it was just really good luck and she's never done that well before. Whatever Bobbi...We changed her name to "Liar" on the scoreboard. hahah.

Anyways, second game, we won, and I even made a strike!!! Funny story: So KR comes up and says, "Ok Heather, this is for ice cream. Come on, you can do it," I got a strike! hahah. It's funny how food can motivate me so well...

Well, even though we won the second game, the overall scores combined, Bobbi and Dustin won.
We did not win... So, we rushed over to Wendy's before midnight and got some food and bought them their prize: frosties. Yes, that's right. But they chose it. Low maintenance. Haha.

Oh and random fact: Heather got a 91 on her Foxtrot!! yay!!

Oh and another random fact: It's been warm lately (well for Utah it has been). I only have to wear my jacket, no sweater in between. Haha. And most of the snow is gone, with the exception of tiny patches in the shade here and there. I even got to take a nap today on the grass between classes, and it was SO warm; the sun was beating down and I even got hot! But, let's see how long this lasts. I am told it never lasts for too long. I'm sure it will snow again soon. But! I am enjoying it while it lasts!!

True To My Word!

AS I promised in several previous blogs, I finally have the pictures I said I would post!!!

See, my wonderful and fabulous friend Traci had taken pictures on her camera that I didn't get on mine and I wasn't able to get them from her because her computer was down. BUT! Now I have them!!



Here's me and Traci back at the Basketball game we went to. The first time we officially hung out and we made sure to document it(we weren't sure it would happen again...LUCKILY we were wrong!!)

After the game, we went to Cafe Rio and I met Carli and Bobbi!! Best decision I ever made, going with them :)

Terrific Tuesday!!!

Tuesday this week was Free Pancake Day at IHOP!

My friend Traci and I woke up early and went before school and it was so fun!!

We each got a free short stack, which was plenty.

Something about pancakes in a restaurant.....soooo goood.

I love Traci, she's so much fun!!!

Then, later that night was yet another successful Mexi-Martes!

Only this time, the boys had something up their sleeve.....

When I walked into the house, a delicious aroma filled the room. I looked into the crockpots to see some sort of beef.

"Corn beef?" I asked.

"ummmm sure," replied KR.

Obviously, it was something abnormal and it perked my interest immediately.

I decided that I wanted to try whatever it was, only to say that I did. But I knew if they told me what it was first, I wouldn't be brave enough to try it.

Soooo.......after a long drawn out process of me trying to get it in my mouth, I finally tried it. It was squishy; the grossest texture....almost like a piece of fat. The flavor tasted similar to just a normal piece of beef.

After tasting it, and a lot of coaxing, I got the boys to fess up to what it was......

La LENGUA!!!! For you gringos... that means....

TONGUE!!!

Oh my gosh!! Gross!!!

But at least I can say I've eaten tongue and never have to do it again.......

See, I'm working on being brave and trying new things. Even if it IS disgusting....

Anyways, so Mexi-Martes was so fun!!!!

I look forward to it every week and I love seeing these people!!

After everyone left, KR and Dani were cleaning up and being the boys that they are, they dared each other to drink "el jugo de lengua".....the juice left over in the crock pots that the tongue was cooking in....

Oh my goodness, this week has just been SO fun and I feel like I say that every week, but it's so true!!!!


Friday after school, I wasn't doing too much actually but then my friend Kyle from my ward called me and asked, "Are you extremely bored and hungry?" Of course I said yes, and he said, "good cuz I'm coming to get you."
So we drove over to Orem to someones house from our ward and had a little Asian dinner night. It was pretty good food and fun to meet some new people, yet again. I found big icicles and couldn't resist a taste.

Then Carli and Bobbi and Traci called me and so when I got home from Orem, I went to a dance party with the girls. It was SO fun. Not quite my scene, but it was fun to just dance and be spontaneous. I wish I would've gotten pictures. But I didn't want to carry my camera in my pocket...

Anyways, so after we danced for a while, we went to Denny's late at night (something I NEVER got to do...) and that was super fun again. Traci took a few pictures but I have to get those, along with some from way back 3 weeks ago...GRRR...hahah (love ya Traci)

After Denny's we went to Carli's house to watch a movie. It was a really fun and spontaneous and full Friday night!

Saturday wasn't quite as eventful but still very fun! I slept in till 10:30! Holy cow! When I saw the clock, I literally jumped out of bed, showered and proceeded to hang around the house all day. Hahah. No, I was productive. I did some homework and I cleaned my room. I went to Carli's for a tiny bit before going to work.


Work...HAHAHAH....
Throughout the semester, each person has to work three weekend closing shifts. I switched with someone so that I was closing with Traci! If we both have to do it and miss out on a Saturday night, we might as well do it together and both miss out. Also, this way we can make it fun since we get to close with a friend, rather than with someone we don't know.

Ya, as you can see from the pictures, we were very hard workers that night. I don't think more than one single person came to the desk all night. Who goes to the law library on a Saturday night?? Obviously not very many people.

We colored, ate ice cream, I talked on the phone with my friend from New Zealand, we listened to music, and we even gave an interpretation of artwork(cheesy mormon dates.....they were on a scavenger hunt of some sort)

All in all, we made it a blast AND we found out we close earlier on saturdays!! So that made us literally do a dance and skip around!! haha. So we were able to meet up with our friends afterwards still. We all went to someones house and played pool and cards for a while and then called it a night. It was sooooo fun!!!

Yes yes, it was super fun!!

TWO IN ONE!!

Ok so I finally posted about last week and I already have a new bunch of adventures to post about! So.....Make sure to scroll down and see the post previous to this one because it is new as well! In fact, read that one first. Then it will be chronological.


LIFE IS SO FUN!! Oh my word I have a fun life and am completely blessed. Ever since I had my little light bulb go on last week(if that doesn't make sense now, it will when you read the post previous to this), I have been trying really hard and succeeding at just being happy regardless of what might be happening. And I must say, there is so much to be happy for in my life!!!

So last weekend, my new buddies and I went to the volleyball game! It was sooo fun! Just as fun as the basketball game, if not more fun because we had even more friends there this time. We got there super early to get good seats, so we brought cards to keep us entertained. We won the game(against Northridge) and then afterwards, we decided to go to a bonfire....


Um...ya....that didn't work out too well. Haha. We drove up the canyon(because there is no beach here, so bonfires are in the mountains...lol) and then down the canyon, and then up the canyon, but we never found it. We got out to take a picture of us "lost" . Soooo....we just went to Jake's house to watch a movie.

Oh my goodness, have you ever seen Shrek the Third?? hahah. I thought it was hilarious!! We were all laughing and so it was just so fun!

Then on Saturday, Sarah and I made a giant cookie for Karli's birithday!! It turned out pretty cool! We even decorated it!!

Then Sunday was Traci's Superbowl party and she made DELICIOUS tacos!! Oh my goodness!!

There is this guy in my FHE group that works at Noodles & Company and for FHE on Monday, we got to go for free and do a taste-testing!! We got to try everything on the menu and it was all SOOOO good!! They had all these different types of noodles, oh my gosh so delicious!
Check out the variety and tastyness at their website and seriously, I recommend it to anyone who might be hear one at any given time! GO!(I think that's why they had the taste-test, so we would advertise!)

MEXIMARTES!!!
Once again, Tuesday we had our fiesta fabulosa at our friends house!! We had yummy tacos and played a fun game where if you mess up, the person to your left gets to draw on your face!!
It was SUCH a fun night! I even made the dessert! Tres Leches cake, which is basically a vanilla cake with this milk mixture poured over the top and soaked all the way through. It sounds soggy but it really isn't. It's SOOO good and I was proud of myself! I think it was a success! I was requested to make flan next week but I don't know about that one....

Now, it's Wednesday and nothing too much has gone on today that would qualify as exciting so I think I will end this post here. It will be a nice break for you to have only a little bit to read as opposed to the usual novels I leave for you.
