Random: Just Like Me

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note/blog with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.


NOTE: I am going to attempt to my best ability, to pick things that most people WON'T know about me, but I can't promise anything. :)

1. I am in love with the ocean. IN love. (ok so I started right away with something everyone knows but I couldn't help it)
2. I really love holidays. Of course Christmas but that is cliche. My favorites are Fourth of July, New Years and Valentines Day. I also love wearing the cliche colors as the holiday approaches.
3. I have never been out of the United States, but I have been on a trip across the country, visiting awesome places like the St. Louis Arch, the Carlsbad Caverns, Roswell New Mexico, Disney World, Cape Canaveral (where I saw a rocket launch), the swamps of Louisiana, not to mention all the temples along the way, including Nauvoo.
4. I have an entire list of things I want to do before I die. And I am completely serious about doing them.
5. My favorite season is summer, even though I enjoy the rain from time to time.
6. I am not a big fan of snow, but I love when it is SNOWING.
7. I am graduating in April.
8. My lucky number is 8. It has been since I was 8 years old, no joke.
9. I love lime jello.
10. I love making lists and love highlighting my list as I complete tasks.
11. I have a horrible habit of cracking my knuckles and really wish I could stop.
12. I am really anal about people touching my bed. I am better about my bed hear at school but I am still really anal about my pillow.
13. I love to wear earrings. I never, ever go without earrings and I try not to wear the same ones two days in a row.
14. I taught swimming lessons over the summer and was on the swim team in high school.
15. Over the passed year, I have learned a LOT about basketball. I am pretty much a pro. That's what happens when you date a basketball fan. But the secret is, I already liked basketball before I met him and as I learn more, I like it more and more. Oh and I am extremely grateful his favorite sport is basketball because it's the only sport I have ever been able to get into. Thank goodness he doesn't like baseball!
16. I've never been skiing or snowboarding and have been in Utah for almost 2 years now.
17. My favorite cereal is Fruit Loops and would eat cereal for every meal if I could. Consequently, I do not buy myself cereal very often.
18. I absolutely love taking pictures and take a ton of them. I pretty much drive my friends nuts.
19. I get really tan in the summer, and love being tan but have never faked and baked or spray tanned.
20. I am a really impatient and am working on it.
21. Whenever I watch girly movie I get really excited and squeal and clap my hands. I get a little more overly excited than most people about little things. I think this drives people nuts too.
22. I have a huge black trash bag full of scarves that I wear regularly.
23. I bought a REALLY cute top over the summer and am still waiting for the perfect occasion to wear it.
24. I put honey mustard on just about everything. Honey mustard is the new ranch.
25. I used to live off lean pockets. I finally resisted buying them last shopping trip.

New Years Eve and Sundance Festival!!

OK so I just posted a long post but forgot to add New Years to it, as well as the pictures from yesterday so two new posts in one day! Lucky you!! (make sure you scroll down after this post to see the one before it)

For New Years I went down to San Diego to Traci's house to celebrate with Traci and Carli. I met some new friends, had a BLAST and just really had a chance to enjoy myself for the first time in a long time.

Afterwards, there was an after party. But they had a band playing to kill time before everyone got there, and we started getting sleepy waiting in the halls. (The DJ couldn't find a venue so they booked a church building). Then while we were waiting, someone pulled the fire alarm, the fire dept came and made everyone leave completely. SOMEBODY IS A PARTY KILLER! We were way bummed. But simultaneously so tired, we didn't care too much hahah.



This past weekend, KR and I drove up to Catherine and Brian's house and had a fantastic breakfast and then drove up to Park City. We wanted to go to the Sundance Film Festival! We didn't do a whole lot of research and had no idea what we were doing so we wound up riding the bus around a bunch, just exploring the town. We finally found the box office where we learned it was $15 for a ticket and we decided it wasn't worth it and headed back to the car. We had lunch at Rumbi Island Grill (my new favorite place!!) and then went back. KR and Brian played basketball while Catherine and I went to the mall. Then we came back and the boys made us dinner! KR even made us milk shakes! It was so nice :) Then we watched a movie and spent the night at their house before coming back to the dreaded Provo haha. It was such a good weekend!!

No Words Good Enough

Since this darn program won't let me get the text BEFORE the picture, I will have to dive into this right here....haha. Back a few weeks ago, we went to a basketball game against USU. Apparently we are in-state rivals (which I don't get because our full on rivals are UoU and they are in the same state as well....) and because of that, we had to play on neutral ground so they had it at the Energy Solutions Arena, where the Utah Jazz play! It was SOO fun and SUCH a good game! But the only thing was that one half of the arena was the rival and so it was really antagonizing having them in our face yelling at us. But we won so it was fun to yell back in their faces. hahah.




One day, we went up to KR's sister Calene's house for her birthday! We had a delicious breakfast, and later some cake. Her and her family planted a christmas tree like 7 or 8 years ago and it was finally big enough to use so the boys cut it down and set it up in the house!




In order for the tree to get in the house, they had to literally remove the entire sliding glass door!
Earlier in December, our apartment hosted a Gingerbread House Competition with a bunch of couples competing on teams. We all had the exact same materials and an hour and a half to complete our houses.

My roommate Leisl and her boyfriend Andy. They were at the same table with us. The whole time, Leisl was stressing about not having enough time and kept telling Andy to "hurry!" haha

The final product! We went with a more traditional look and I think it was adorable. Note the windows. KR cut them out with a knife AFTER the building was constructed but BEFORE the frosting was firm. He did an awesome job. I was proud :)

KR and his roommate climbed up this tree to decorate it with lights and even toppd it with a star! Note the heighth of the tree. KR climbed up the middle of the tree and jumped off onto the roof, which is two stories high!
Later in the month, KR and I went up to SLC for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas show. I like to take pictures of him driving :)

After the show, we walked around temple square and it had finally snowed for reals earlier that day for the first time this season.

So before we went home for the holidays, KR and I had christmas at my house. I made dinner and then I gave him his presents. Look how good he looks in his new sweatshirt :)
Then we went to his house and he gave me my present, but it said on it, DO NOT OPEN UNTIL DEC 25! I was so mad!! hahah. He finally gave in later though and let me open it.
OH and earlier that night, we had a dance party, spur of he moment, in KR's apartment. Jared and Aimee and Craig and Dani and me and KR. It was hilarious!

Then the boys got out the basketballs and did what they do best. They were dribbling in perfect rhythm.

Then the Free Willy song came on and everyone was doing interpretive dancing. The finale was the best of all. The boys lifted KR up on his throne...King R rules once more.
Once I got home, I headed to my mom's house to celebrate Christmas. Here are some pictures taken at my grandma's house. It's tradition to get one on the fireplace. Me and Becca had our own little photo shoot once again, but I only posted a few.

One night over break, my cousin Sandra, and my new friends Taryn and Amy and I went to the singles dance (even though Sandra and Amy are married, and their husbands came too). It was SO fun! I love these girls!

I went down to San Diego for New Years (those pictures will be posted in a seperate post, mostly because I just realized I didn't upload them to this one yet and it would be way too much work to upload them and then try to drag them down to the bottom hahah.) The next morning, Traci and I had a New Years Toast, to confidence and happiness in 2009!

Then we drove back up to Huntington.
We went to dinner with Sandra and Tyler, Taryn, and Amy and Brandon. It was such a blast!!

Ok this is since being back this semester. We went to the first volleyball game of the season (one of our favorite things to do last semester). It was almost the same exact gang from last year but missing a few people. It was SOO fun!! See our friend Heather on the far left and her son Ethan.
