EASTER!

So Easter was a few weeks ago, but again, I am playing catch up. :)

To start off, here is a picture of me and KR with our Easter baskets from my Grandma. Again, note the pink and blue, each corresponding to the recipient :) Awww adorable!!So for Easter weekend, KR and I went up to Catherine and Brian's house. Man, we love going up there. They are so fun and it's definitely a plus to get out of Provo. So we spent the night Friday night and then on Saturday, the boys went skiing. Meanwhile, Catherine and I went to a RS service project where we became pro at packing tons of snacks into a tiny can. Then we went shopping the rest of the day where I unsuccessfully looked for an Easter dress. It was still a fun day though. Then we had dinner and watched a movie with the boys once they got home. Oh before dinner, the boys went out to work on the lawn. Brian mowed while KR seeded or something like that. I was up to my normal antics and was spying through the window with my camera.
But then I got caught..... now THAT'S a true paparazzi shot Catherine! hahah.
Oh we also dyed eggs that afternoon. We didn't have any of the fancy kits my dad usually gets, so we had to be creative. And boy were we!! We got the food dye out and started out just trying it the normal way, with vinegar and water.

Then we started putting the food coloring right on the eggs. Then we had the idea of spinning the egg while dropping dye on it. This was the outcome. I think it was more fun to watch than it was pretty.
Just me trying to be artistic.
Brian's walmart egg.
"Just looking at it makes you happy!"

I made a Roxie egg. Haha. It didn't turn out too well, but it was because I used purple crayon.
KR got creative with holding the egg so he could decorate without having to hold it. All four of us!

Dumping the dye down the sink is always pretty to me so I like to take a picture.
Easter morning, the daffodils were in full bloom and beautiful (out in the front yard).
Then when we got home from church, some punk had picked them all and jsut left them sitting there. It was really mean and so sad!! Happy Easter to you too! Because you were naughty, little punk kid, the easter bunny is bringing you rotten eggs next year!!
Catherine was sad :( I don't blame her. But at least I made her a beautiful bouquet for the table.
I told them I hid the eggs so they were looking for them.
But they were still just in the fridge, in their carton. "I want to look at them," KR said when I asked him why he wouldn't look up at the camera for a picture. :)

No one would let me get a group shot in our easter clothes so I had to sneak one of me and KR while he was getting in the fridge. And Catherine and Brian (or more just Catherine) wanted to take a picture with the egg with the heart on it. Cute!
While waiting for dinner to be ready, we went and flew a kite!! It was super windy so it was perfect.

Then I came back in and saw a big slab of salmon on the counter. I thought it was a tongue at first. But it was fish!! AHH! Anyone who knows me knows I am not a fan of fish. I never eat it. But Catherine was just tricking me. She had a chicken breast planned for me. But they still made me try the fish. I didn't really want to, but I felt bad. Here's KR trying to feed it to me:

Not gonna lie, I am still not a big fan. I had to eat my bite with a huge pile of rice to hide the taste haha. oh and I was in charge of the rolls. I asked Catherine whether she wanted them round or the pretzel shape like in the book. She said I could make whatever shape I wanted. I took her up on the offer:

B is for Brian!

C is for Catherine

H is for Heather

K is for KR (and 50% of his name)
For dessert we made strawberry short cake. We fixed the bundt cake like in My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Hahaha.
YUM!!
Yet another fabulous weekend with Catherine and Brian! Happy EASTER!!

1. I love that you love coming to my house! I love it when you guys come to visit!
2. The correct term is that KR fertilized, not seeded. But maybe planting seed will be his next project ;) And you should see our lawn now, it looks so green and beautiful now!
3. "easter bunny is bringing you rotten eggs next year!!" OH my gosh, you crack me up! Thank goodness more daffodils are blooming now! Stupid kids.
4. "saw a big slab of salmon on the counter" Oh Heather, someday you will appreciate fish. Have you tried it 10 times yet? :)
