This week, Dean took his first steps!!!!!! Ok so most of you know that by now haha. Luckily this blog is a journal for me so you get to hear about it again!!
KR got home and literally as the door opened, Dean was already in the process of standing up and he let go! I yelled repeatedly, hes standing up! And by the time KR got his shoes off and put his back pack and other stuff down and got in the living room, Dean was still standing! We were so excited KR didn't miss it! Then I had the idea to have him walk between us, back and forth. Err tried it once last week but not much happened. But this time, I could just tell he was ready. He took a few steps! Back and forth! Since then, he had been standing on his own, sometimes without help from any objects and he's getting better at slowly squatting back down. However, he had taken a few tumbles. He was going for his open dresser drawers and I want fast enough and he hit his cheek on the corner. He still had a bruise :( it looks like he's dirty haha. Dean is such a conundrum. He is stubborn with so much determination and so curious and wants to get into everything. Yet, he's a bit of a wussy haha. Gets that and his stubbornness from me (KR can be stubborn too; dean had no chance). He is so scared of the vacuum and although he likes being thrown up in the air, if you slowly lift him, he grabs on for dear life and gets so scared. Haha.
We went to the park in Monday with Peggy and Jameson and Dean tried the swings again. This time he loved them! So I took him to the park again later this week-there is one like a half mile away and we needed to go for a quick walk to get out. I have a feeling that will happen a lot this summer! It's so great!
This week has been pretty mellow. KR had her long hours- he didn't get home till like 8:30 one day- but dean for the most part had been doing well. He's sleeping well, with a few naps here and there being cruddy. He's been mostly happy. The last few days, he's hitting this grumpy wall around 430 or 5 and it's really frustrating while I try and cook dinner and then KR gets home right when I need to start bath time so instead of starting early to get his grumpy bum to bed, he'd starting later. Just a tad later but still. He's had a little bit of a boogey nose and today it's runny. I'm still convinced it was the library haha.
He hit his 11 months this Friday!!!! The count down to his birthday begins!!! I'm so stress but excited!
Friday was a big day too cuz it was Bethany's 18th birthday and Marissa graduated college! And this year is busy cuz Marissa and Jennifer graduate college, Amber graduates with her aa from golden west, Bethany graduate high school and Jennifer is getting married! Throw in a Schultz family reunion in tahoe and dean's first birthday and bam! Two busy parents/grandparents! Haha. Good luck!
Well even though Dean had a major milestone this week, the rest was pretty low key. He's just really learning in and out, like putting things inside something else. He also shakes his head no when he doesn't want something and I'm not sure if it was coincidence but he nodded yes sheen I asked if he wanted strawberry.

A rare occurrence. He's sleeping in my arms while I blog. He hasn't done thst since like 5 months old, back when that construction was going on.
